English Central video, "The Origin of Smudeg-Proof Lipsticks"

The video that I' ve watched was about a chemist called Hazel Bishop in the 1940's who designed fuel for different oil companies. But her real interest was in the cosmetics industry and the most important, in the image of the woman workers. That is why Bishop created a new lipstic that not only could long for so much time, also woul moisturized your lips and when you use it , you will never get dirty. Since Bishop had recreated the lipsticks, many cosmetics companies began to innovate their products. So is icredible how nowadays the cosmetic industry has become a billion-dollar industry.

Words that I've learnt

drove - multitud
smudge-proof - no mancha
in the midst of - en medio de
well-groomed - apariencia limpia
stains- tipo de tinta líquida

The article that I´ve red was published on February of the present year and was about a really awful new
that happened in Paris. A group of protesters had thrown bottles to the police, so they decided to attack
the protestors by using a harmful gas. But that action wasn’t the worst. The most unacceptable thing
was the attitude that a police took with one of the protestors when he damaged physical and in a sexual way
that poor man. This is a horrible example of the injustice and the lack of respect of the authorities.

 Words learnt:
Tear gas – Gas químico que provoca las lágrimas en una persona
