Confirmation
Dear
Jay Jackson,
I
had already checked all the updated information that you provided me of my
conference event and the date and location are the correct data I confirmed
last week. But due to the number of assistants I have been confirmed the last
couple of days, I might need to ask you if there is another conference center
available in your Hotel.
Talking
about the technical requirements at every hall, I will need you to install 2
extra monitors to project my presentation. It won´t be enough with the speaker
at the back of the room. On the other hand, I think it could be useful and more
comfortable to provide the assistants some coffee or probably hot teas instead
of just water. So, please make the modification on the previous banquet
service.
I
hope there won’t be any trouble with the changes.
Your
Sincerely
Mr.Kim

Age limit: Discrimination or Necessity?
Nowadays
companies are stablishing an age limit for most of their open positions. This
is Mexico’s case, since Mexico has a population of 122.3 million people,
there are not enough jobs to cover the demand for which it is necessary to
stablish an age limit.
On the other
hand, let’s take a look to first world countries like Canada, Australia, New
Zealand, Finland, where the offer of jobs is greater that the demand. This is
why in some countries jobs are inherited because of the lack of applicants.
In my opinion
this situation is discrimination because the age of a person is not a fact to
consider if a person is able to perform a job or an activity. Companies
should take in a consideration the experience that a person has doing something
and should focus on the skills and abilities of every single person.
Having very young
people can be considered as an important strategy since younger people are
the future of the world we are living but it can also be dangerous because as
I mentioned before the years of experience and every single obstacle that
older people have faced are important facts to consider if a company wants to
succeed in their business.
I consider that
the best way to avoid discrimination and obtain good result in a company is
to stablish an age limit according to the position, for example analyst
positions should be considered for people between 20 to 25 years old,
supervisor positions for people between 26 to 35 years old and managerial
positions for people between 35 to 50 years old while people over 50 years
old should be considered for the highest levels in a company because all of
the experienced they have gained across their professional paths.
