FINAL REFLECTION

This semester I have definitely improved my English level. All my improvements were first of all thanks to the tools that the teacher used to teach us. In my view, the development of a student depends on the way the professor gives the classes. Nowadays is very important to use the actual technology that the innovation bring us, so I really appreciate that the teacher take advantage of this. I consider I owed my knowledge to the practices that I have been doing during my tries, mistakes and correction in every activity realized at class, at the laboratory and at home.

The best of my performance during this semester was my active participation at every class, my speed at the moment of answering activities, and the way I followed instructions, made me to win lots of Tec Points. On the other hand, the worst of my performance could be the not enough hours of practice at home.

To continue improving myself I need to get use to do daily activities online and the ones that I had printed already, just to be active on the language every day. Use all the webpages and apps for practicing listening, reading, speaking and use of English.

The video that I´ve watched was about Donald Trump and, investor, a TV personality, and now president for the United States. The thing that characterized Trump is his unique hair. Some people think that he is wearing a hairpiece but he always insists his hair is naturel. One of the most incredible things is that he used the ice bucket challenge to prove it was real.

The article was about a horrible murder in Italy when an owner of a boat in the port of Rimini found a suitcase floating in the water during his travel in the lake, so he decided to picked it up. Obviously he thought that inside of the package were some clothes because he said it was really heavy. Then when he decided to open the bag he noticed a black plastic bag with a human body inside. The Italian police tried to identify the body with the one of a married woman that disappeared from a cruise in February. Later the police arrested her husband because he was involved, but the police still looking for enough evidence to find the responsible of the murder.

This female robot can make several sexy expressions and her outfit seems to be a spacesuit. The scientists that create the HRP4C said that they are still working in some problems and details of this Japanese woman to develop some other abilities and make her public and interactive.

The article I´ve read was about a man with 56 years old called Bill Kochevar had a cycling accident and became paralyzed below his shoulders. But the incredible thing is that now with technology help the man can move his arm and hand correctly. This is thanks electrodes which make possible record brain information and activity and generate signals that makes the brain possible to stimulate the muscles. This was a real miracle because nobody had ever made possible to reconnect the brain to move the body again.

This video talks about a new Digital Barbie. The most famous doll from Mattel had been introduced at a Toy Convention in New York. This new doll had a touch panel, 114 colored LEDs, and a pre-programmed light show of plenty of designs and shapes that can be displayed in front of the dress, this electric activity also responds to music.

Another innovation on Barbie’s World is the new Barbie Digital Makeover Mirror. With this new artefact you will need your parents I pad and the toy contain a beautiful makeup virtual makeup to paint not only Barbie but also your face.

With all this situation the Swedish Prime Minister informed that the government will do all in their hands to solve what happened and advised everyone to pay attention to the police broadcasts. This situation is really worrying because this awful attack came after the incidents in France, Germany and The United Kingdom.

This video is about the difference between the human language and the computer’s language. The real human language is built with slangs, metaphors, etc. This type of language more than a half of the world data, but the only inconvenient is that computers couldn’t understand our sophisticated language. Watson is a new computer that covers the meaning of our language and locate the right answer in a quick way. This new system is capable of analyze info that computers were not able before, even the ones on Jeopardy language.

The video I´ve watched is about a German Company that developed bionic butterflies that are just like the real ones because they can fly and very close to each other. Their weight is of 1 ounce and height of around 20 inches. The most interesting part is that these robot animals are compound of 2 motors, 2 batteries, infrared markers, and a pair of wings made up of soft elastic material. These butterflies can really fly in a room surrounded by 10 cameras, infrared tracking and a central computer which coordinate their movements. They are not for sale but this invention definitely shows continued research efforts in technology.

WRITE YOUR ESSAY HERE (APPROXIMATELY 300 WORDS) Age limit: Discrimination or Necessity? Nowadays companies are stablishing an age limit for most of their open positions. This is Mexico’s case, since Mexico has a population of 122.3 million people, there are not enough jobs to cover the demand for which it is necessary to stablish an age limit. On the other hand, let’s take a look to first world countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, where the offer of jobs is greater that the demand. This is why in some countries jobs are inherited because of the lack of applicants. In my opinion this situation is discrimination because the age of a person is not a fact to consider if a person is able to perform a job or an activity. Companies should take in a consideration the experience that a person has doing something and should focus on the skills and abilities of every single person. Having very young people can be considered as an important strategy since younger people are the future of the world we are living but it can also be dangerous because as I mentioned before the years of experience and every single obstacle that older people have faced are important facts to consider if a company wants to succeed in their business. I consider that the best way to avoid discrimination and obtain good result in a company is to stablish an age limit according to the position, for example analyst positions should be considered for people between 20 to 25 years old, supervisor positions for people between 26 to 35 years old and managerial positions for people between 35 to 50 years old while people over 50 years old should be considered for the highest levels in a company because all of the experienced they have gained across their professional paths.

Nowadays the situation of finding a jog has been representing a problem for many people, especially; the recent graduates, unemployed, and people over forty years old. This is a result of the lack of job and possibilities of growth that is causing a serious situation in the economy of every family. However, this type of difficulties are only faced by people that have some disadvantages in comparison from others that get a little help from relatives working in those companies.

It is considered that some of the advantages that people could have from getting a job from their family members start with being easily accepted from the company and might get an important position in the respective enterprise. Also these people do not face any difficulty or the fastidious long processes of admission and evaluation. In addition, it is thought that this recommended people would receive a considerable income for their services at the company even if their time is not enough. Not forgetting the facilities of absences given when they present any familiar or health problem, including the respect on their vacation permission.

Additionally, recommended people do not face many business or personal problems with their mates due to their company´s position. Moreover, they could get the great chance of meeting very important people around the enterprise environment and at the same time getting a remarkable knowledge because of the experience learnt from all that business relations.

To sum up, when there is a family member at a company and a relative is looking for job it would have some facilities to developed himself due to the directly relation, so it could be recommendable to have this type of connections or contacts to get some help in an easy way.

To begin with, Yes, I filled that form to complain about the service. I was surprised to experience the unsatisfying retard of the wait staff, lately. I´ve been coming to this restaurant for years.

I was very disappointed with the way the waitress gave us the service. May be she wasn´t feeling ok, but the form she served us and the awful manners were unacceptable.

I hope you talk, not only with her but with all your staff and give them some training. Also I suggest testing your personal before you make a decision to contract them. My family insisted on changing your staff, but in my view it could be an exaggerating idea.

How was my performance in this partial?

Personally my performance during this second partial of the semester, I have been improving considerably due to all the activities that were done at class. My continued participation every session, the activities with time and the ones that were by team. That is why I consider I had advanced on my performance on this subject.

What should I continue doing because I got good results?

I really need to continue practicing at home with all the tools, links, apps and web pages that the teacher had provided us to develop and improve ourselves.

What do I need to change?

I consider that this partial my performance was really good. At first I thought I did not have the enough habilities to get the level, but by the time the course was advancing I fall into acount that I was progressing succesfully , my grades were considerably getting better. 

On my view the habbit of practising daily and getting use to listen every thing in english, like movies, documentaries, articles made me to accustom to the language. This activities had a good result on my grades, so I will continue doing homework for my progress. 

This partial I did not have too much problem with this subject, but it could be a good idea to be better prepared before every english exam.

That is why the residents were very upset because they had already advised of this huge problem before. And 600 local people had to move from there and were afraid of the police that instead of helping, they arrested some who protest about this unjustified action.

REFLECTION OF THE ACTIVITY

This activity was really helpful for me to practice my Reading Aloud , a part of the Speaking TOEIC EXAM. At first with this project I was able to listen how I was used to pronounce the English when I read. Then the original recordings really helped me to learn how is the difference in the intonation between a simple text and an announcement. And finally after hearing and practicing a lot I could record my own announcement correctly. I truly enjoy this speaking activity.
